Strings
Ready for the next step? Beginner instruments are designed for younger players, and they often provide years of enjoyment. But as a child progresses, beginner instruments may limit your son or daughter's progress and musical development.

Stepping up the Violin
A Step-up violin will have a bigger sound with better response than a student level instrument. Higher quality wood and strings are common with advanced violins. The body of the instrument is characteristically hand crafted of high-quality premium Tonewoods and aged for many years. The tops are typically solid Spruce, with flamed Maple back, ribs, neck and scroll. Having a Spruce top allows the sounds to expand more, as it is a softer wood. The wood on each instrument is meticulously graduated for optimum sound production, projection, resonance, and clarity. Hand-applied varnish allows for unparalleled resonance and complexity, thus making each instrument unique.
