Music gives voice to students to express themselves in ways other subjects cannot. Many of my students feel that the band room is their home. It is a joy to be able to create this musical family with them, while creating music at the highest levels possible. – Antoine Poitras

Music and the arts are a huge part of Williston's identity. My favorite part is seeing kids light up at any of our district performances and seeing so many windows and doors for them now and in their future. Students can find themselves and a second home within our walls while we have them and that is the most positive thing to witness as an educator. – Bridget Stepan

In our small remote school, we have to co-op with area school for every sport except for track and for activities such as Drama and Close Up. This means the students must always travel somewhere else for these experiences, which limits the number of students who take part. Band and Choir is one of the few activities we can provide here without the travel commitment. I believe the students appreciate the opportunity as every year we have 80%-100% participation in the music groups. – Trudy Fraase Wolf
